Wait On The Lord!

We all have days, stuck in our fears

Sometimes, those days turn into years

I’ve had some times, not one or two

To lean on God to get me through

Years later here, in such a way

God favored me, this awe filled day!

I stood my ground, I kept my joy

Chaos that loomed, was just a ploy

Today in peace, I would not stress

No fear today, I passed a test

When God answers us, with mighty roar

Our minds can’t see, what’s yet in store

God hears our whispers, feels our tears

His mighty hand to stem our fears

I see a “sign,” I stop and stare

Confirmed by things, only we two share

Out of the problem, God can form

His rare solutions, quiet my storm

Then bam, bam, bam; burdens off my back

Releasing blessings that strangle lack

September sunflower devotional 9-+2015

God had a plan, from start to end

Transforms the broken, I’m on the mend

God heard my prayers, He hears yours too

Just don’t give up, He’ll get you through!

And years may pass, and that’s okay

Our Lord above, a better way….

To answered prayers

You’ve long forgot

Cast off, forgotten

Is not our lot

His joy above

Will find you too

Wait on the Lord

His Word is true

  1. I needed this reinforcement of truth. I have a very big thing I have had to lay at God’s feet and wait for. I am hoping that it will be like in your poem- that I will forget about it for a while and then I will see my prayers answered when I least expect it.

      1. Thanks Lilka! Looking forward to seeing the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with my family today- they have a clown conductor :). It’s a 4th birthday present for my son from the grandparents.

      2. It was wonderful. It began and ended with circus music. The Clownductor Marvin introduced all the instruments of the orchestra in a fun song, and the different categories (brass, percussion, strings, woodwind) a wore a different colour. The clown did various cheeky or funny things and orchestra member

      3. It was very clever and funny. And a wonderful way to introduce the kids to the different instruments in the orchestra. At one point, the clown pulled out something from a box which had been snuck onto his chair (after reluctantly opening it, showing the orchestra first and then relaxing his face 🙂 ) and he made a french horn out of a horn or trumpet mouth piece, funnel a D what looked a bit like a garden hose. He played it wonderfully well, trills and all, using his mouth to change the notes! E-man loved the percussion and strings and particularly the glockenspiel and timpani. His daddy is a percussionist and he has always liked drums, playing his daddy’s drums at two years old, learning to pump the pedal to the bass drum early on.

  2. Dear Lilka God answered my prayer today with a mighty roar. I have been facing some challenges since this past week. I didn’t know what to do. I logged into wordpress and saw your post title”wait on the Lord”. It was a sign only Him and I knew. From then on I patiently waited and today He has brought me to my knees crying tears of joys. He is merciful, loving, promise keeper, way maker, redeemer. Praise be to God!!

    1. It is so good to “see” you!
I’m so glad to hear your praise report. God is good like that letting us know that He is with us even when it doesn’t feel like it. God WILL do whatever it is we need done. I had a day like that this past Friday, planned on writing something all together different and then this came out. Nothing but God. His faithfulness just overwhelmed me again and again. God wants His people to be encouraged and not downtrodden. God will get us through (not keep us stuck) whatever we face. God’s roar takes our breath away. So happy to hear our Father’s praises. 🙂
Continue to B Blessed. God is good!

    1. This is indeed my creation, not at all what I intended to write. It began as a regular post and then morphed into a poem which wasn’t the intention at all! We must sometimes wait years for answered prayers but when God answers it is nothing short of Amazing! We just have to keep the faith and keep holding on. B Blessed! 🙂

  3. Love this. It is your creation? 😉
Yes..sometimes it takes years…and we still must wait. Good to be reminded that Abba is always there and if we but wait, hold on and stand firm, His will, will be done and our brokenness made whole.
